On November 12th the ambassadors of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 presented the "Manifesto for Creativity and Innovation in Europe" to Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

For the second time AiNB organised the Fidias Awards. The goal is to issue an award at a meritorious interiorarchitect in different categories. Also students can participate and send in a project. It's their institute that coaches them for this project.  The Fidias Awards is getting more and more attention and had a big response. The ceremony of the award took place on november 25th in Antwerp, in the trendy Red&Blue club. It was a spectacular evening that AiNB realised with the sponsorship of interior-related partners. More then 600 people attended the event.

Non Degree design courses confuse both the student and the professional. SBID is determined to champion these to define a clear career rout and ensure future high standards for the profession.

The Modern Interiors Research Centre Conference, Kingston University, London. Thursday 13TH and Friday 14TH May 2010.
The annual conference of the Modern Interiors Research Centre has
established itself as a leading forum for international, interdisciplinary debate on the history and theory of the modern interior. In 2010 the conference will bring together architectural and design historians, theoreticians and practitioners, to explore the theme of Interior Lives. 

Call for papers
Berg Publishers are pleased to announce the launch of a new academic journal, Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture in 2010. The editors, Anne Massey, (MIRC, Kingston University) and John Turpin (Washington State University) welcome contributions that consider the spaces and places within built structures.

AiNB organises the annual Kick Off Day for interiorarchitects on october 21th at BULO in Mechelen, Belgium.
Young professionals are invited for this event. They will get information on legal matters, accounting, social status, insurance etc..

At the ECIA General Assembly in Helsinki, 12 September 2009, the Society of British Interior Design was welcomed as a new full member.
The Society of British Interior Design (SBID) was established to represent the finest professionals within the British interior design industry.

Creating Europe's network of Interior Architects

The ECIA website has been renewed! In the new stucture we aim to offer you more information, more accurate news, more background information and more resources. Most of all, we now offer interactivity; registered members can comment directly to posts on the site or discuss in the Forum.

Save the date! This year's annual General Assembly will take place in Helsinki on 12 September, coinciding with the Helsinki Design Week. Also celebrating the 60th anniversary of SIO, our Finnish member organization! More news will follow shortly!

The importance of a European organisation for the position of Interior architects / designers is distinguished by the Italian colleagues from the beginning. They took part in the field of educational standards.

40 YEARS OF PROFESSION
In June the 40th anniversary from the establishment of the professional association AIPi is going to fall. An important moment we are willing to join to the five hundred years celebration from Andrea Palladio’s birth: architect, sculptor, great artist in the Italian arts history.
In the evening of June 26th we are going to have a celebratory party, in the wonderful setting of Villa Cordellina in Vicenza.

The tenth contractworld.award competition has been announced for 2010. Prizes will be awarded for the best design concepts in three main categories: progressive work environments, creative hotel and restaurant interiors, and innovative shops and exhibition stands.
