Essentials for the Everyday Use of Interior Architects and Designers
by Axel Muller-Scholl

This book provides essential introductory information for designers and interior designers. From the realm of interior design, for example, it deals with ceilings, floors, doors, windows, stairs, etc.—from that of material science, with carpets, wallpaper, wall paint, glass, wood materials, stone, and concrete. It also presents architectural drawing: techniques of representation, descriptive geometry, technical drawing, standard dimensions, signs and symbols, and mathematical foundations; attention is also given to the fundamentals of graphic design, preparing documents for publication, file formats, and color systems. All of this is generously leavened with practical examples; original essays by Ruedi Baur, Axel Kufus, Norbert Rademacher, Martin Kunz, and others; and thought-provoking quotations. If they want to, readers may separate the pages of the Japanese binding—this way they get room to add their personal notes and comments.

The Fundamentals of Interior Architecture

John Coles (Author), Naomi House (Author)

This book offers an introduction to the key elements involved in the creation of aesthetically appealing and practically appropriate interior architecture. Each element, or fundamental, uses theory and contemporary and historical references to illustrate the richness and diversity of design practice. Using examples taken from work created by contemporary practitioners, "The Fundamentals of Interior Architecture" offers a unique insight into the principles and processes that underpin the work of the professional interior designer. The book contains five sections which together encapsulate the principle ideas, skills and knowledge that are employed in the creation of spatial solutions that support the needs of the client and which recognize the qualities of the building and its situation. Using illustrations and photographs these elements are identified and described in a way that makes them accessible to the reader.

Basics Interior Architecture: Drawing out the interior

by Ro Spankie

Basics Interior Architecture: Drawing out the Interior aims to provide an introduction to the representation of interior space through drawing and model. It introduces the reader to a range of techniques and methods and describes when and where to use them. Starting with what is meant by interior architecture and why designers draw in the first place, it goes on to explore what one might draw and when. This book is not a manual of graphic techniques but a reference and inspiration to the types of drawing and ways of making images available. It considers the idea that the method we choose to draw with influences the way we think and therefore what we design. With sketches and drawings from Le Corbusier, Iannis Xenakis, Mies van der Rohe, Project Orange and Carlo Scarpa.
