Finland has two universities where you can study interior architecture. Both of them have legal status from the Ministry of Education. You can become a member of SIO with a degree from either of these universities. UIAH has a Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, where you study both of these fields on a bachelor level. On a master’s level students apply either to spatial design -programme or furniture design-programme. Yearly courses have 10 students. UIAH is an academic art school where personal artistic expression and strong conceptual qualities are valued. Institute Of Design has separates courses for interior architecture and furniture design and when you apply to the institute you already decide your professional field. Yearly courses have 12 students. Institute Of Design has a tradition of training students with practical professional skills. The Institute has grown to a university from an arts and crafts background.
